Back To School - Using Stickers To Build School Community - Building The Buzz
Building a feeling of pride and a sense of community has always been problematic for schools, both public and private. Getting parents involved in school functions and after school activities is hard; parents have limited time and resources, other commitments and some just do not want to take part. Building that sense of community is integral to the well being of the entire school community, from the sports team to the various clubs within the school and even the teachers and parents. That sense of community, that sense of being something bigger than yourself or your children is a dynamic part of a school’s success at building a community and sense of belonging within the students, faculty and parents.
There are many ways that a school can build this sense of community, from custom stickers and bumper stickers to fundraising drives, classroom projects and more. The most important factor in building a sense of community and feeling of pride within a school system is the pride factor. The school must give students a way to show their pride in their school, their academic achievements within that institution and their support for their school. Often, students feel alienated from the school community as a whole due, in part, to a lack of a means to highlight their pride in their area of excellence. Many times schools will support specific areas, such as sports or cheerleading, to the exclusion of academic excellence. More children excel in academics than do in sports; it makes good sense for schools to foster a sense of pride in academic achievements.
More than just a focus on academic greatness, schools can focus on a number of other items. In addition, it is not solely the responsibility of the school, the teachers and administration, to foster that sense of pride and community. It is also the role of parents, especially those involved with the school already. Parents who are part of the PTA often hold fundraisers or other events like bakes sales, raffles, seasonal festivals and other events. One incredibly simple and cost effective method of promoting these events is by using custom stickers and bumper stickers.
We’ve all seen the “My Child Is an Honor Roll” bumper stickers. These are a great example of how bumper stickers can build a feeling of pride in students and parents. With bumper stickers, organizations like the PTA and others can promote their agendas, fundraisers and events. They can advertise for volunteers through this means as well, even a simple slogan, “Join the PTA” serves to get the message out in the public and generate interest. More effective slogans and sayings can be implemented to gain even greater recognition. Custom sticker printing is an extremely cost effective means of advertising and building the sense of community and pride that is necessary in today’s school system.
Fundraising is of deep concern to today’s school system and organizations within the school. Often, these entities need funds to make special trips, complete certain projects, build new additions and more. Bumper sticker sales are an ideal way to provide a popular item, which is cost effective for the school or organization and can be marked up to make the sales worthwhile. Bumper stickers are amazingly popular and many people will purchase them as a fundraiser. They’re a great way for parents, students and faculty to show school spirit, pride and that sense of community that is so ethereal at times. By selling custom stickers and bumper stickers, organizations provide the community as a whole a means to support the school and the growing community by showing their pride in the school, the school’s sports teams, the school’s academic achievement, even the school’s band or cheerleaders. There are few items as popular as stickers and bumpers stickers in today’s society, they let people express political statements, share humorous sayings, promote causes and show school pride.
Through custom sticker printing, schools and school related organizations can completely customize stickers and bumper stickers. The size, shape, color and graphics can be completely controlled to bring the most impact to the community and benefit to the school. From mascots to the Honor Roll and fundraising advertising, stickers are a great way to go about it.
